Tips on Fashion for Women in their 30's

Fashion for women over 30 is a reflection of their role as a mother and a career woman. Their fashion trend is not influenced by very glamorous clothing apt for 20's, nor is it too mature. Fashion for 30's is all about dressing stylishly, yet not provocatively. It is important not to cross that thin line between glamor and sleaze. While young women in their 20's can get away with cheap fashion, women in their 30's cannot afford to wear tacky clothes at any cost. No matter if you are a stay at home mom or a CEO, you have to be elegant and extremely well dressed under all circumstances. Given below are some fashion tips for women in their 30's.

Clothes
Women's clothing for this age group should be comfortable to wear, hassle free and extremely easy to clean. Since, you will most likely have small children to care for, you cannot afford to take too long to dress up. Although, the choice of clothes will be influenced by your career, it is important that you have strict bifurcation, regarding what to wear at work and what to wear for outings. If you do not have a dress code at office, wear formal pants or A-line skirts that end below knees. Wear blouses in pastel colors like peach, baby blue or even bright colors like green, turquoise etc. Avoid wearing extremely bold patterns on the blouse, or low cut dresses at work. For casual affairs, you can wear long skirts in flowing fabric teamed with a simple blouse or cotton kapris with a bright T-shirt. Floral prints are a great option, if you wish to wear something fresh and youthful. Summer dresses with decent necklines are apt for afternoon dos. For evening parties, choose cocktail dresses that will accentuate your figure. If you have a figure to flaunt, you may go for strapless dresses with plunging necklines. In the end, use your common sense and wear clothes that are appropriate for the occasion and your body type.

Accessories and Makeup
30's is a time to bid adieu to large, chunky fashion jewelry and opt for its elegant counterpart. Also avoid carrying very large, glitzy handbags. Always invest in quality fashion accessories and not cheap stuff bought off the roadside vendor. If you have put on a bit of weight, then make sure you choose a comfortable pair of shoes. Trade your favorite stilettos for flat, cushioned footwear. Regarding makeup, avoid doing too much of it no matter what occasion. Also, avoid bold colors for eye shadows and eye liners. On the other hand, also avoid a completely plain look devoid of any makeup. Make sure you exude grace and femininity through your makeup. Hairstyle should be chosen as per your profession and length of hair. Avoid coloring your hair in shocking shades. Highlights are fine, as long as they are within a close range of your natural hair color or base color.

Remember, fashion is more about your attitude than attire. Hence be confident, wear a smile, and dress in clothes that make you happy and comfortable. Hope, the above tips on fashion for women in their 30's were helpful.

Making Fashion Affordable

You Don’t Need Expensive Clothes to be Successful
Many fashion retailers, particularly those targeting higher income shoppers, may seem hopelessly out of range if you don’t have a pile of disposable income to spend on whatever you want. Although many of us would very much like to be able to buy jeans in the $100-$200 range, this really isn’t a possibility for many average people. Unfortunately, media outlets like television, fashion magazines, and advertisements encourage women and men alike to strive to afford higher-end fashion. Society teaches us that if we are worrying about the price of our fashion choices, we are not successful. You can also have a look at how is glamor affecting our daily lives.

The Perils of Spending Too Much
This message works very well as a marketing message for the more expensive fashion brands, because it creates a sense of guilt or shame in those of us who can’t normally afford clothes from ritzy mall stores. So, if we choose to shop at lower end retailers instead, we are doing the right thing financially but we are encouraged by media messages to feel bad about ourselves for making this choice. In order to feel more successful and stylish, some of us end up shopping at high end stores even though we can’t necessarily afford it. This leads to financial trouble, such as credit card debt, later on. The situation can be very difficult to remedy once we have developed a habit of purchasing expensive clothes, however. Moving from too-pricey stores to lower end ones only compounds the shame that we have learned to feel.

There is No Shame in Seeking Help
How can we escape this strange situation? If you are interested in fashion and want to look your best and look current without making sacrifices that could get you into trouble later on, what are your options? Before considering the answers to these questions, it needs to be said that if you think you have a shopping problem or an addiction to expensive fashion brands, you should consider seeking help. Rather than being ashamed of your failures, find someone you can talk to about this issue and who will guide you in finding a compromise that is sustainable in your life. There is no shame in asking for a problem when you find you are embroiled in a situation that has gotten out of control.

Consider Consignment
As the saying goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. There are several things you can do to avoid falling into the trap of living outside your means, especially when it comes to fashion. Consignment stores can be a great resource, for example. A consignment shop sells very gently used clothing and often carries high fashion brands at very low prices. Good consignment stores are classy and are usually staffed by people who know the fashion world inside and out. Look around in your area for a consignment shop and save yourself a pretty penny without sacrificing your image. As a bonus, you can sometimes sell your gently used items to the store to get an even bigger discount.

Coupons are Worth it!
Another way to make expensive fashion affordable on your budget is to collect coupons. When it comes to groceries, it can be difficult and time consuming to make coupons truly worthwhile, but coupons can be great for the mall. Most stores have a mailing list you can sign up for to receive coupons in the mail or online. Make sure to sign up for the mailing list at all of your favorite shopping spots, and you are likely to find great deals on any given day. Be careful not to let coupons convince you to buy more than you can afford! Look for coupons that give a dollar amount discount with no limit. For example, if you get a coupon for $25 with no obligation to spend more than that, you can either get a $25 for free or 25% off a $100 item. Discard coupons worth less than 15%, you can do better!

Set a Budget
No matter where you shop, remember to set yourself a fashion budget. Be realistic about how much you can afford to spend on clothes each season, and stick to it! When you know what your fashion budget is, you can make choices more wisely. Maybe you will decide to get cheaper accessories so you can afford a higher end top, or vice versa. This type of consideration is only possible if you are up front with yourself about your budget so you can look your best without going broke!

I might come across as blunt, but yes, when we are talking about fashion, the role of size cannot be ignored. While we accept that real women are nowhere close to the skeletons we see on ramp, they also should not wear the clothes exhibited at such shows. Let your body choose the clothes for itself. I am not saying that overweight women shouldn't wear short, revealing clothes, but then, women's plus size clothing could be a better alternative for them. If figure hugging clothes make you comfortable and happy, sure go for it. But at the same time, do not blindly follow fashion trends. Just because you are 20, it does not mean that you can pull off any outfit with elan. On the other hand, mature women in their 40's, 50's and 60's need not restrict them to granny clothes. If you have a great body, go ahead and flaunt it. As long as you keep your makeup and accessories sober, you sure can make a style statement even in your ripe age.

Go for plunging necklines, only if you have a great body to flaunt. Invest in a nice quality party shoes and a bag. Keep jewelry to bare minimum, if your dress is already too glamorous.

The age factor that I was talking about becomes more pronounced when we talk about makeup. Young girls and women can wear bold, glittery colors and get away with it. However, a woman of 50 wearing same makeup may attract too much attention for wrong reasons. Irrespective of your age, you should apply some makeup, for that sophisticated and polished look. Go for peach, rose, plum shades of lipstick and eyeshadow for day time. Browns, mauve, purples look stunning at night. Young girls can experiment with eye shadows in bold colors such as turquoise and bright green. Hair fashion for older women and younger alike will vary as per the length, style of your hair as well as your occupation.

A wrong notion held by many senior women is that chunky accessories and jewelries are meant only for younger women and that older women should just wear pearls or diamonds. Women in sixties can wear chunky jewelery too, provided they can carry it off really well. A good idea in this regard would be to wear just one prominent piece of jewelery, it can be long chandelier earrings or a large pendant. A single standout piece of jewelery, worn with elan looks great on any mature woman.

As far as makeup for sixty plus women is concerned, it should be minimal. A natural, subtle, sophisticated look by opting for muted lipsticks, eye shadows, eye liners, etc. is what you should opt for. Off course, you can jazz up your outfit with beautiful chic scarfs and handbags!

As you can see, fashion over 60 is not about wearing black and white clothes and fading into the background. Sixties fashion clothing is about bringing out the real you, dressing up in creative and glamorous ways just to please you and no one else!

Fashion Styles for Women Over 50

If you look at the fashion industry, whether it is with regards to clothes or hairstyles or shoes or accessories, anything and everything is aimed at pleasing younger women and to make them look attractive. So, you have seen thin models in their teens sashaying down the ramp wearing clothes that real women, especially those over a certain age, can not even imagine wearing. Where does this leave them in terms of women's clothing? What should a woman who is above the age of 50 with not that perfect a figure wear? To help such women dress fashion and age appropriate, given below are some interesting tips on fashion styles for women over 50.

Tips on Fashion Styles for Women Over 50

Fun Fashion...
One of the foremost of fashion advice for women over 50 is that they should dress up in a more fun way! Age should not be a barrier in picking up cool, chic and stylish dresses. The only thing is that women should know how to carry the dresses with confidence and grace.

The Perfect Fit...
Often times it is seen that women over a certain age start dressing up in large, over-sized clothes, all the time believing that they will hide the "flaws" in their body. Believe me! It does not work that way. For dressing up in fabulous fashion for women over 50, you need to find clothes that fit your body perfectly i.e. clothes that are neither too loose, nor too tight!

Colors and Prints...
Speaking on fashion styles for women over 50, when it comes to choosing colors for the dresses, go in for soft neutral ones such as khaki, camel, navy and charcoal. For formal, evening wear, black and white are a good choice. To add color to your wardrobe, you can always pair up the dresses with bright bags in colors such as red and dark blue. For women who like wearing printed dresses, bold prints such as stripes, checks and argyles look very flattering on older women.

Wardrobe Essentials...
As for wardrobe must have, here are some eternal, ageless fashion ideas for women over 50 - shirt dresses, pea jackets, denim jackets, a pair of well fitting jeans, trench coats, wrap dresses, A-line knee-length skirts, turtlenecks and gowns with no frills. The dresses for women over 50 should be made in clean lines, with nothing over the top or flashy. The same goes for accessories. No flashy accessories should be worn by women in this age bracket. A single, bold, classic piece of jewelery will lend you grace and sophistication so go for it rather than wearing a number of small accessories.

For a Sexy Look...
Another of the fashion tips for women over 50 is that if they want to dress up sexy, it does not mean that they have to bare their body. By clever selection of fabrics, they can make themselves appear seductive even when fully clothed. Silk, cashmere, satin and leather are some of the fabrics which are appropriate for sexy, seductive fashion over 50.

Make-up and Hairstyles...
The make-up for a woman over 50 should be subtle, as it makes her look graceful and smart. So, when it comes to choosing lipstick and eyeshadow colors, go in for nude shades or light pink. For everyday wear, mascara and lip gloss is all that you need. As for the hairstyles for women over 50, it is a general perception that only small hairstyles look good in this age. However, if the gray hair is properly covered and you do not have the problem of thinning hair, you can go in for long hairstyles too. A ponytail or a bun on top of the head, layers in shoulder length hair, perms if you want to add volume to the hair - these are some of the hairstyles that you can opt for, depending upon what suits the shape of your face.

This is in short about the fashion styles for women over 50. Remember one thing, now that you are fifty, you obviously have the intelligence, experience and knowledge which no younger women can ever match. So, let all of these shine through your personality and clothing. Feel good about yourself - that's the best fashion accessory that you can wear!

Fashion is a word that is very close to a woman's heart. Irrespective of the rifts at social, economic and geographical levels, all of us are united with this common thread, fashion! Although, all of us have a liking for trendy clothes and accessories, very few of us actually make a mark of their own in the fashion world. You may have a friend who shops at the same store as you, goes to same salon as you and yet manages to make her mark through her appearance. Why? Probably because she knows as few fashion secrets and a lot of latest female fashion trends which you do not. At one point, you will have to give up all your efforts of looking young and live with what you are! The moment of realization may bring a lot of disappointment to some women. Hence, one fashion advice for women over 50 is that accept the fact that you won't look eternally young and face your age with confidence. This acceptance will help you to make a wise decision while choosing outfits and accessories. Aging gracefully is the secret to looking good eternally.

Current Fashion Trends for Women

If you are a working woman go for formal trousers and blouses for office wear. Urban fashion clothing for women is a great blend of style and professionalism. Young girls can wear knee length skirts with or without stockings. Opt for neutral colors such as brown, black, navy, gray for bottoms. Pastels shirts and blouses look great on mature women. Women's clothing for office, should be decent and comfortable. For outings or summer parties, you can wear nice, floral printed long skirts or dresses. You also have an option of wearing capris with comfortable T-shirts. Summer dresses are apt for casual parties or patio get-togethers. Keep your outfit in sync with the weather outside.

Yesteryear's Fashion for Women

Now that we are done with predicting 2010 fashion trends for women, wouldn't it be fascinating to know 'What the 1800's fashion was like?' This era is also called as the Victorian era, after the ruling Queen Victoria. Two thirds of this century was dominated by the Victorian culture. Victorian fashion for women was influenced by none other than Queen Victoria. Long flowing, floral printed gowns with bell sleeves was the trademark 18th century fashion costume and clothing. The fetish for high heels among women began to grow from this era itself. This era was also marked with rapid changes in the socio-economic condition of the world. The rift between social classes began to diminish. While fashion in the middle ages was strictly based on the social class of the person, fashion in the 1800s was more egalitarian in a way. For instance, royal fabrics like silk, velvet were not restricted to the monarchs.

The 1900's were a time to welcome the revolutionary changes in every field. These changes were also reflected in the fashion industry. With the introduction of newer mediums of entertainment, first cinema and then television, fashion trends in this century were highly influenced by the silver screen. Women became liberal in more ways than one and managed to make their presence felt in various walks of life. Naturally, 1900s fashion for women was more about comfort, convenience and a strong reflection of their personal identity. Each decade had something new to offer to the fashion industry. However, retro fashion can be called as the landmark of this century. Not only was this fashion style lifted from silver screen, but it was also responsible for the growing sense of fashion consciousness among common people. Let us take a quick walk through the memory lane to know all about famous fashion clothing in each decade.

Colorful frills, leather boots, collarless jackets, comfortable slacks were a regular fashion clothing for women. However, it was the bell bottom jeans and hipsters which made its presence all over the place. Headbands and large goggles were a must have accessory during 1960's hippie fashion.

1970's Fashion
This was the period, when baby boomers were in their youth. This generation believed in looking as different as possible from the norm. Fashion Across the Cultures

Culture is what inspires fashion the most. Although, we talked about the liberating fashion trends for women, there are still a vast majority of women who are burqa clad, oblivious to the changing fashion trends. To the other extreme end, we have Gothic fashion, which is best described by the word bizarre. Spiky hair, black nails, wild colors, everything is acceptable in Gothic fashion. Moving to the other end of the globe, one can see lot many variations in women's fashion. Authentic or traditional Indian fashion for women is characterized by rich fabrics and heavy handwork. In far east, trends in Japanese fashion have also contributed to the fashion industry. However, the most influential fashion culture after ancient Greek fashion is the French and Italian fashion industry. These two places are a mecca for young designers and models alike.

After understanding these high fashion clothing trends throughout the centuries, you may agree that keeping up with changing fashion trends is indeed a task. However, your confidence and attitude can help you make a mark irrespective of your age or other factors. Although, fashion for women in their 30's cannot accompany them into their 60's, their confidence and attitude can sure!

Fashion Advice for Women

Fashion is a lot of things, beautiful, befuddling, bizarre, and bodacious. A dress or a silhouette that can look ethereal and utterly gorgeous on the runway, can look like a disaster from outer space in real life. And if getting the look right is not task enough, you need to ensure that you get the trend right while making it work for your body type and facial structure. Fashion is no more limited to just the clothes you wear. From the bag you carry to the shoes you don, to even the watch on your wrist that serves more than just a functional purpose, fashion dictates almost everything. Getting it right can be easy as long as you stick to a few basics of the game. There are some things that you need to have in your wardrobe, which will ensure that you never go wrong. While fashion trends can be tempting to follow, more often than not they disappear within a month or two, leaving you with clothes that you will never wear again. Sticking to basics while experimenting with silhouettes, cuts, and colors, and developing your own personal sense of style is the best way to stay ahead of the demands of fashion. The best fashion advice for women ever probably comes from Yves Saint Laurent who said, "Fashions fade, style is eternal." Take the advice from one of the biggest names in fashion and concentrate on your style. Being fashionable will fall into place.

Springtime Fashion Tips for Women

Every woman wants to look beautiful and in style, but during the spring and summer months, easy clothes are, well, so much easier. However, this year, the fashion designers have given us some looks that are attractive but will not cause you to break the bank or a sweat.

For every situation from the business meeting to a night at the movies, the fashion industry has given us the shirt dress. This simple dress can be worn with high heels or sandals, a beach hat or a briefcase. Not only does the shirt dress complement almost any figure, but it is comfortable too!

Designers have brought back denim for this season. Now, no one wants a repeat of the eighties with head to toe denim, so, this year, pick one article of clothing to be denim. For example, pair a cute tailored denim jacket with a flirty floral dress and sandals, or a denim bag with a linen outfit. Denim is sturdy and casual without being sloppy.

Many designers have presented jumpsuits as part of their spring collections. Not every woman feels comfortable in a jumpsuit, but if you do – go for it! Well done make up and some bright jewelry turn the jumpsuit into a powerful statement of confidence and grace.

Shorts are a staple of springtime fashion, and this year is no different. Look for well-fitting Bermuda shorts in khaki or primary colors. Also, many designers have shorts made from fancier materials, such as silk or leather. This year you can express more of yourself in your clothing without having to bake in long pants.

As for colors and patterns, the designers have given us a wide selection to choose from this year. Prominent during spring fashion week were soft colors such as coral or peach. Find a shade that works with your skin tone and this article of clothing can be very versatile. Wear a coral shirt with a black pantsuit for business, or pair it with khakis for a more casual event.

Also fashionable is plaid. Whether a cute pair of plaid flats, or a soft and comfortable plaid "boyfriend" shirt, this pattern works for almost anyone. Try to avoid mixing patterns, as that can so easily go wrong. Instead, match your plaid with solid colors, and use the pattern as a dramatic accent.

These are just a few of the latest looks for this season. They are the easiest to wear and the easiest to add to a closet without needing a whole new wardrobe. Of course, as always, the most important element to being fashionable is confidence. If you feel comfortable and beautiful in your clothes, everyone will see you as gorgeous!

Tips to Get Valued by People

How do you get valued by the people who look at you?

Do people around you admire at you if yes then it is absolutely by the way you dress. First impression is the best impression so when a person looks onto you the first time they value you by your costume.

Attire is one of the most important aspect in life. There is a saying known as "Half his self and half his dress makes a man complete". Just imagine a doctor who is well known, the next thing that comes into your mind is a person in a clean and crisp white coat.

How to choose a costume:

1. It should fit your style.
2. It should fit your height, structure and color of skin.
3. It should fit your surrounding/environment.
4. It should fit your circumstance (that is party/casual).

Dressing sensibly has a lot of plus points, it improves ones self esteem and confidence in addition to looking good.

One can look cool in his/her workspot by the costume or uniform. That is by wearing an attire that suits one's style. For example if a person works in a laboratory can choose a lab coat which is in white colour with pockets and long enough to protect him from harmful chemicals. So it is necessary to choose a branded quality dress so as to get ranked by people around you.

Sharp Men's and Women's Fashions

Men and women like to look their best and feel their best at work and play. Whether relaxing, studying, exercising, or working clothes and accessories serve an important roll in making people comfortable and ready for whatever they are doing. Sharp men’s and women’s fashions are a multi billion dollar industry every year. Last year alone an estimated 1.95 billion, yes billion, dollars were spent on fashion belts. It is amazing how much disposable income is devoted by households every month to clothing.

Some clothing items are known for the areas from which they originated. Swiss army watches are one such item. These watches are known to be one of the finest on the market. Did you know that there are four different types of these time pieces? Their categories include active, chronograph, alarm, professional, and titanium. Designed for different settings and situations, the professional includes the AirBoss and Dive Master 500M designs. The AirBoss is a unique watch. It is self-winding so time is never lost. It is also designed with a chronograph and tachymeter. The Dive Master 500 M was made for deep water. It can survive depths of up to 1,650 feet. Divers are about the only people who ever go very deep so this would be a good watch for someone with that interest. The chronograph model features three small dials on its face. One dial tracks 30 minutes, the second times 60 seconds, and the third is for 1/10th second intervals. There are also two categories that Swiss army watches fit into: Base Camp and Night Vision.

Sometimes clothing fits better with the use of special under garments. The term under garments sometimes brings to mind early 1900 American ladies with their petticoats and bloomers. Today under garments are a lot different. To help shape a body some men turn to a men’s girdle to flatten out a man’s lines. Though far from attractive sounding, some are very nice looking. Not just meant to fit snugly across the abdomen, some models are designed to accent a muscled torso and upper arm. A man is not usually open about wearing one, but they can make a nice difference when appearances matter.

Neck lanyards are a term that made me scratch my head. It is an item that everyone has seen, but not a commonly used term. Sort of like the capital cursive Q, when one sees it they have to stop and think for a second. In Wal-Mart attendants wear a neck lanyard everyday. It has a badge with their name on it, position, and even sometimes achievement pens. Give up? A neck lanyard is the narrow cloth type ‘necklaces’ that the workers wear.

Typically there is a clip of some sort on the end to fasten the badge to. Store managers often attach their keys to the end of the lanyard. Some lanyards are made of plastic or soft vinyl. Store logos, team logos, slogans, and other advertisements are often printed on them. Neck lanyards are also perfect for exhibitors at home shows, athletes who hate to carry things like keys in their pockets, and even to hold a whistle for training a dog. The plastic ones are unharmed by water. They are 32 inches in length. If a clip is not wanted on the end, other options would be a ring, snap hook, or alligator clips. Because they are removable it is easier for people to wear them for a long period of time.

Other men’s and women’s fashions include work clothes, shoes, work out clothing, child wardrobes, and professional clothing. Accessories like watches, purses, belts, hats, and even umbrellas help to accent wardrobes and blend colors and styles together. There is only one time to make a sharp first impression, so choosing carefully and matching items together with a practiced eye make ordinary clothes into lovely ensembles.

Easy Beauty and Fashion Tips

First impression truly lasts and unfortunately, those first impressions are partly based on how a person looks. But there are many ways on how you can improve your looks for the better and get more positive first impressions. While there are many cosmetic surgery options available, image consultants for hire, and stylists that you can consult, you can get beauty and fashion advice instead and beautify yourself with the simple tips below.

Skin care plays an important role in looking and feeling good. Remember to wash your face every morning and in the evening. As a rule of thumb, do not sleep with makeup on and completely wipe it off even before washing and toning your face. Applying moisturizer and toner are habits that you should also develop so your skin will always be soft and smooth.

When applying makeup, remember to wash your face as well first. Choose makeup that is oil-based when you have dry-skin and choose water-based makeup when you have oily skin. When choosing the shade for your foundation, choose one that is one shade lighter than your skin tone, because the foundation tends to get darker once applied to skin, suiting your shade perfectly. Remember that makeup is there to highlight your good features and minimize the defects, and not to drastically change your look - unless of course it’s for a photo shoot or an artistic requirement. Try not to wear too much makeup during the day and save it for evening dates and other formal events.

Choose various shades for your clothes. While it would be safer to fill your closet with shades of browns or plain black and whites, try adding a few more lively and bright colors to your ensemble because a little color and a little accent goes a long way in updating your wardrobe. For the classics, every woman has to have a decent pair of jeans for casual nights, and a plain long-sleeved white top for business affairs. The classic little black dress is also required in every ladies’ wardrobe.

What every woman should have as well are two decent pair of shoes - some black high-heeled leather shoes that are very comfortable and can pair with any business or evening dress and some casual and dependable shoes for those casual night outs.

Looking good and feeling good work hand in hand. When you look good, you feel good, and also when you feel good and positive, it will show as well. Your attitude will show your true beauty and it will be reflected with how you take care of yourself and the fashion statements that you make. Most importantly, as they say, your smile is the most important accessory that you can have and it comes for free.

Beauty and fashion has been given emphasis more than ever in the previous years and it is important to know that beauty and fashion is not limited to the people in the spotlight. Get beauty and fashion sense that will make you shine wherever you are.

Ladies Fashion Tips from Magazines

The benefits of fashion magazines go far beyond the beautiful models you see and envy in every glossy page. There is a lot of information and ladies fashion advice that you can get from these magazines and they are definitely worth your yearly subscription.

- Styles for different body shapes - Certain clothes only look good on certain body types. While that long evening skirt may look great on your friend, your petite frame may not carry the whole outfit as it would with your friend. Whether you have a long neck you want to emphasize, a slender waist that you want to highlight, large thighs that you want to cover, or make your shoulders appear wider, these effects can all be achieved by the proper selection of clothes. Magazines can give you a visual representation so it will not be difficult for you to imagine what it will look like if you wear the right outfit.

- Types of fabric - As with fabrics, there are also some fabrics that only work best with certain cuts. If you are thinking about buying that gown you saw online and saw that the material is wool, by reading fashion magazines you would know that wool will not work with most gowns. Silk, cotton, polyester, and other mixed fabrics can be a good lesson learned from fashion magazines.

- Choice of colors - If you want to give your closet an overhaul, you might see that your clothes are all of a certain shade. While going this way you can be considered on the safe side of the color palette and color combination, it might work to expand your color choices a little bit more. Some color combinations that you thought would not work might actually look good and look better on you when you see the actual pairing.

- Mix and match - If you’re stuck with the same old combination for your clothes, with the help of fashion magazines you can get ideas on how you can mix and match certain outfits that you haven’t tried or have thought that would probably not work.

- Newest fashion collections - Fashion magazines are all about the latest trends and designs, and they regularly feature the latest collections from different ready-to-wear shops and couturiers as well.

- Skin care and cosmetics - Of course your look wouldn’t be complete without your hair and skin looking good as well. The latest skin care products and makeup available are also being featured regularly on these magazines.

Information and fashion tips and advice from fashion magazines is very useful to fashion enthusiasts, designers, artists and celebrities. And these magazines don’t just feature beauty and fashion advice can be found for ladies. You can also get tips on how to dress up and pamper that special man in your life. So grab that magazine and go beyond being the critique for the models, but instead, use it for your benefit and look as good or maybe even better than the models in the magazines.

How is Glamor Affecting Our Daily Lives

"Romance is the glamor, which turns the dust of everyday life into a golden haze." - Elinor Glyn.

Glamor exists in everything nowadays! Fashion modeling, fashion designing and photography are now one of the fastest growing lucrative career options. Images of beautiful women and sculpted men are barging into our lives through the various forms of media. Gorgeous ladies persuade the average homemaker to indulge in luxury brands where as the tall, dark and handsome model talks about the latest line of designer clothing. Glamor has definitely taken complete control and power over the lives of many. The question remains, can we handle it? How is glamor affecting our daily lives? Has the glamor world cast a spell on us? Well, this depends entirely upon the individual.

The world of glamor has all the shine and glimmer but with a shade of gray. Everybody is striving for that gorgeous hourglass figure and men are in pursuit of the fastest cars and the latest gadgets. There are certain groups of people who believe in starving themselves in order to achieve perfection and be glamorous. But then, who decides the level of perfection? Beauty is something that can’t be defined and a person’s innermost qualities counts more than the luxury brands he/she wears. The opulent interiors of a place do not signify a home. The luxurious fabric of the tuxedo does not indicate a kind and loving personality. But then, does that mean there is something wrong with the world of glamor?

Personally speaking, it all depends upon our own perception. We must learn to see and imbibe the best from everything. Glamor can affect our lives positively if we only focus on the way we think. If you must observe, think about the creativity that goes into the fashion shoot by a particular photographer. Or, appreciate the creativity of a fashion designer. However, aiming to lead a life of a model walking in a 5-inch heel would seem utterly meaningless, unless of course, you would do something to change your life for the better. It’s better to take steps towards your dream instead of fantasizing about it. Let us allow glamor to enter our lives positively and let’s be more realistic about other issues. The magic of glamor cannot cease to exist whether we like it or not!

Prison Fashion Show Gets Guards Fired

Three prison guards were fired and a fourth was suspended after reports indicate the men encouraged a mock fashion show that involved ten female inmates of the Bedford County Jail in Shelbyville, Tennessee. According to Sheriff's office administrator Larry Lowman, the inmates "used their prison uniforms and anything else for the fashion show". The items modeled by the inmates included a bikini made from a sweatshirt.

"Obviously, they exercised very poor judgment," District Attorney Chuck Crawford said Friday night. Crawford referred further questions about the incident to Sheriff Randall Boyce and Larry Lowman. Details of the incident were made public after a joint investigation by the Bedford County Sheriff's department and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

According to reports, Alma Cantu's attention was obtained by the inmates at about 7 p.m. on November 11. Cantu, 52, proceeded to watch the evening fashion show through a large security window. Three other male guards —Jason Carden, 24, Steven Qualls, 32, and Jamie Farris, 20, — watched the inmates on security monitors, Lowman and Boyce said.

The idea for the so-called fashion show began with the female inmates, Lowman said. "This is the kind of thing that's hurt other sheriff's departments."

Boyce said, "As soon as it happened, we called [the district attorney] and told him so another department could look into it other than ours."

According to Lowman, the fashion show lasted approximately 7-10 minutes. There were other antics involved as well.

"There were some remarks made over the intercom into that [cell] block," Lowman said. "One of the guards asked a particular female to blow into the speaker ... box of the intercom [which doubles as a microphone] and as she did, he put his microphone down to his crotch."

Lowman and Boyce stated that it hasn’t been revealed which guard asked the inmate to blow into the intercom.

"We don't tolerate that," Boyce said of the behavior.

Lowman also said that one of the guards also took pictures with the camera on his cell phone but later deleted them.

It was Jamie Farris, the youngest employee, who reported the activities. As a result, an investigation was launched by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. The report revealed there was no physical contact between the guards and inmates during the show.

As a result, Farris was suspended without pay for 18 days while the other three guards were fired.

"He was the youngest one," Boyce said in explanation. He added that Farris was apparently going along with what older guards were doing.

"It was their job to stop it and not socialize with the inmates," Boyce said.

As punishment, the inmates involved in the incident had their privileges and work release opportunities revoked. Some of the inmates involved have since completed their sentences and have been released.
