Creating something with wood is not as simple as pottery but it is a great skill oriented work which develops the artist's skill in everyone. Wooden Scrapbook

Requirements

    * 2 boards (0.5cm thick) cut to 8.5cm x 5.5cm
    * Saw
    * Sandpaper
    * Drill
    * Hole punch
    * Pencil
    * Paper
    * Twine- A strong thread or string composed of two or more strands twisted together.
    * Scissors
    * Markers or paint and paintbrush

How to Make it

    * Cut boards to size mentioned above.
    * Drill 2 holes at one end of each board.
    * Sand boards to smooth rough edges.
    * Place the board on the paper, outline the board and mark the holes.
    * Punch 2 holes in each paper, following the marks.
    * Cut 2 small strings of twine and lace through the holes and make a loop for making it a binding.
    * Use markers to decorate the scrapbook.

Requirements

    * Wooden frame of any size
    * black acrylic craft paint
    * Paint brush
    * black craft glue
    * Cut the frame into 0.6cm squares and color them differently.

    * Four black and green wooden beads.
    * green felt, cut into ¼" squares

How to Make it

    * Paint the frame black, repeat if needed and let dry.
    * Sort the matted squares by color. Glue 1.25cm squares of the squares around the border of the picture frame. Leave a small amount of black space between each. In a mosaic colors should run in a pattern and repeat.
    * Glue buttons, again in a repeating color pattern, around the border below the matted squares.
    * Glue black wooden beads, one in each corner of the remaining frame border. Glue the green wooden beads an equal distance away from each black wooden bead
    * Glue 0.6cm squares of green felt in between the wooden beads, running in a straight pattern.
    * Let dry completely and it is ready to be used.
