Dump Cake Recipe

When we hear ‘dump cake’, it may not sound very appealing. Hence, I am sure you would want to know where does this cake get its name from. Dump cake gets its name from its recipe. Yeah, you heard me right, as all the ingredients are dumped into a baking pan and then baked. The over all presentation is not like a cake, but is like a cobbler, therefore it cannot be categorized under fancy baking. Children can also bake this cake, as there is no mixing. Not only are the kids fond of this recipe, but adults also love it. Take a look at different dump cake recipes.

Cherry Dump Cake Recipe
Cherry dump cake is a delicious dessert to be made for holidays or also great for a backyard picnic. They are easy and inexpensive at the same time.

Ingredients

  • Cherry Pie Filling 1 can
  • White Cake Mix 1 box
  • Butter (sliced) 1 stick
Method
  • Pour the cherry pie filling into the baking pan.
  • Spread the filling evenly, so that it covers the entire pan.
  • Pour dry cake mix over the cherry filling.
  • However, do not break the lumps and leave them intact, as they are going to form the "crust" of the cake.
  • Place slices butter on top of the dry mix, but do not mix it.
  • Bake the cake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit, until the cake is golden brown in color.
  • It will take approximately 30 to 45 minutes, but different ovens may require different time.
  • Remove from the oven, cool for about 30 minutes and slice it evenly and serve warm.
Pumpkin Dump Cake

Ingredients
  • Pumpkin (15 ounce can) 1
  • Evaporated Milk (12 ounce can) 1
  • Eggs 3
  • Nutmeg 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger ½ teaspoon
  • Cloves ½ teaspoon
  • Salt ½ teaspoon
  • Sugar ¾ cup
  • Yellow Cake Mix 1 packet
  • Walnuts 1 cup
  • Butter Sticks (melted) ¾ cup
Method
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, as you get the baking pan ready.
  • Grease the cooking pan lightly and combine pumpkin, evaporated milk, eggs, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, salt and sugar together and pour the mixture into the baking pan.
  • Sprinkle the cake mix on the pumpkin mixture and gently pat down with spoon.
  • Now sprinkle in the nuts and drizzle butter on top.
  • Bake the cake for 50 minutes till golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and cool, before you cut it into squares.
Apple Dump Cake Recipe
This makes for a delicious apple cake, which children relish a lot.

Ingredients
  • Spice Cake Mix 1 package
  • Apple Pie Filling 2 cans
  • Ground Cinnamon 1 teaspoon
  • Ground Nutmeg 1 teaspoon
  • Ground All Spice 1 teaspoon
  • White Sugar 1 tablespoon
  • Butter ¾ cup
  • Chopped Pecans 1 cup
Method
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, while you ready the cake mix.
  • Grease a baking pan and pour apple pie filling into the pan.
  • In a small bowl, mix together cinnamon, nutmeg, all spice and sugar and sprinkle it over pie filling.
  • Now pour the dry cake mix over the apple filling.
  • Dot it with butter pieces and scatter nuts on top of the dry mix.
  • Now bake the cake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about an hour, until the cake is golden brown in color and bubbling on the sides.
  • Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
Peach Dump Cake Recipe
Personally this is my favorite dump cake recipe. I like to eat this with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients
  • Peaches in Heavy Syrup 2 cans
  • Yellow Cake Mix 1 package
  • Butter ½ cup
  • Ground Cinnamon ½ teaspoon
Method
  • The oven is to be preheated to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Grease a baking pan and empty peaches along with the syrup into it.
  • Cover the peaches with dry cake mix and press down gently.
  • Dot with cut butter pieces on top of the cake mix and sprinkle cinnamon powder.
  • Bake the cake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 45 minutes to an hour, until the top is golden brown in color.
