Friends, Friends, and More Friends!

"Stay" is a charming word in a friend's vocabulary. - Louisa May Alcott

Everyone seems to have some friends, even if it is just one decent friend. Even homeless people whom I have met and had intellectually stimulating conversations with...they seem to be friends with a few other homeless people.

By the way...here's a way to feel good and get a "blessing"...the next time you see a homeless person, go into the nearest restaurant or grocery store, and buy them some ready-to-eat food. Don't forget the napkins, plastic fork and spoon, et cetera. Then just walk up to them and hand it to them, and wish them a happy day. As you walk away, and hear their platitudes and words of praise, you will feel so good that it will amaze you.

"Wear a smile and have friends; wear a scowl and have wrinkles." - George Eliot (Pen name of Mary Ann Evans)

"The only way to have a friend is to be one." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Good friendships are fragile things and require as much care as any other fragile and precious thing." - Randolph Bourne

"Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together." - Woodrow Wilson

"Brotherhood is the very price and condition of man's survival." - Carlos P. Romulo

"There is no hope or joy except in human relations." - Antoine de Saint-Exupery

So, after reading those, you should be inspired...get out there and cultivate some new friendships, and be sure to tend to the ones you are already in...making them better and stronger.
