Indian Clothing

India, a south Asian country has a wide range of clothing. Indians sense of clothing mainly dominated by three most important factors like local culture, religion and climate.

On the basis of geographical features, every region in India has its unique style of clothing. Both Indian men and women loves to dress up in those attires which mainly displays the culture and tradition of their community and region. Colorful Saris, Salwar-Kameezs and Ghagra Cholis are very common in Indian ladies whereas in case of Indian males, White Dhotis, Lungi, Kurta-Paijama and Sherwanis are very popular.

But, if we demarcate India according to various regions, we would come across wide range of dressing styles in every part. Ladies living in Northern part of India likes to wear Ghagra cholis or lehnga cholis and Salwar Kameezs more whereas females of other parts of India mostly wears Saris. But wrap it up in various forms.

Only in North-eastern states the dressing style is little bit different from rest of the country. In north-east regions, girls generally wear hand woven long skirts. Females in Assam dress up in Mekhala Chaddars, Puan wore by Mizo ladies and the tribal women of Meghalaya wears Dakmanda and Jyensyem etc.

But, with the gradual passage of time, dressing style of Indians has drastically changed. Influence from western nations has mainly dominated the fashion scenario in India. Current generation of our country are very fashionable and loves to dress up in western attires. Be it the wardrobe of India men or Indian women, cool and stylish dresses has overtake the traditional costumes.

Jeans, formal trousers, shirts, T-shirts , Shorts are very common in the wardrobe of Indian men whereas in case of women, dresses like short and long Skirts, Capris, Wrap-around, Jeans, T-shirts, Tops, etc. are very common.

Despite of all such developments in fashion world of India, 6 inch long piece of cloth dominates each and every traditional occasion, be it a festival or social ceremonies like weddings. On these occasions every India women loves to dress up in Sari, so that they look traditional and To enhance the beauty, Indian women uses wide range of accessories like Bindi, earrings, bangles, necklaces etc.
