We simply can't live without that cup of coffee can we? It is more than just a drink for so many of us. It is part of our lifestyle. You go out with your friends, what is the first thing you order? What is the one thing you have in the morning with your breakfast? You have to work at night, who's your late night companion? Yes it is this delicious caffeine kick called coffee. It is a such a ubiquitous part of our daily life that we never stop and wonder how many calories in coffee. So what is the amount of daily coffee calories which you may be consuming?

Before giving the exact number of calories in coffee, you need to understand that the coffee, the coffee bean in itself has very few calories. The calories in the coffee largely increase or decrease based on the milk content and the amount of sugar that you add to the coffee. So if you want to lower the number of calories in your coffee, then reduce the milk and sugar content. But then again, I say this, undiluted coffee may not be to everyone's taste! Calories in Plain Black Coffee
Plain black coffee has the lowest calorie content among all coffees, given that it doesn't have anything apart from coffee and water! One 270 gm mug with no sugar and no milk will only add 5 calories to your daily calorific intake. Doesn't sound too bad does it? Plus, there are no calories from fat!

Calories in Coffee With Skim Milk
Another pretty low calorie coffee is the coffee with skim milk. Skim milk is touted as a low fat, healthier form of milk hence the calories in coffee with skim milk too will be very low. 10 fluid oz. of skim milk will add about 25 calories to your daily intake.

Calories in Coffee With Cream and Sugar
Want to up the calorie intake a bit? How about the coffee with a bit of cream and sugar. Cream is notorious for its calorie content and sugar too can have a few calories too. There are 120 calories in coffee with cream and sugar for a 10 fluid oz. cup. 54 of those 120 calories come from the 6 gm of fat from your coffee with cream and sugar.

Calories in Flavored Coffee
Flavored coffee is another favorite beverage of many people. But, what is the amount of calories in flavored coffee? Flavored coffees generally contain more calories than normal coffees because they often use sugar as an important component of flavoring. So a ½ tbsp of flavored instant coffee can contain up to 97 calories in it. But then again, there are various coffee makers whose flavored coffees have a minimal sugar content and they hardly add any extra calories to the normal cuppa. So this was all about the coffee calories. As you can see from the above article, the calories in coffee beans is very less. So as long as you stick to the standard black coffee, no sugar, no milk, the your calorie intake is minimal and your weight loss diet remains unaffected! But the more bells and whistles you add to it, milk, sugar, cream, flavors, etc. the higher is the amount of calories you consume!
